They Say When One Door Closes...

...another one opens.

Welcome to a virtual tour of our virtually empty new house.

This is our Queenslander.  That's what they call this style of house, which was probably built in the early 1900's.  They were designed to be raised off the ground with high ceilings in order to capture the beautiful breezes that blow through the city constantly.  Not sure how old this house is, but it definitely has that charming old house look and feel.

The Bathtub...something I completely took for granted and never will again!  Lots of homes over here don't have bathtubs, I think because of the space restrictions.  I just happen to have three kids that are terrified of taking showers.  You'd think after 6 weeks they would learn to adjust.  Yeah, so did I.

And a few fun shots of our life camping out at a near empty house.

Hallie crashed on the floor.

Caden & Marin and their new favorite toy: boxes.

Caden's version of organizing his toys in his new closet.

The kids enjoying their favorite vantage point
on the back upstairs deck.

Lunch, picnic style!

Belongings are now confirmed for delivery on Monday, July 5th.  Next time join us for photos of a furnished home!

  2. Oh so many things to say. My heart broke a little seeing your old door. Special place but on to an awesome new house! I LOVE it and want to come see it in person. The floors and wide open great room is awesome. Of course the pool is super sweet!! Your kiddos look adorable and I love seeing your face. I'm so excited for you to get your stuff on Monday! You will cry you'll be so happy!! Have fun and don't get overwhelmed with getting everything in its spot. Honestly I didn't have anything to do so I just took a little bit at a time. Have a little honey do list when C gets home and then start again the next day!! Miss you and want to talk soon. Maybe this weekend! LVU!

  3. I'm with Wendi on all of it! Can't believe that there is a shortage on bathtubs! Yikes! That's almost how it is in Doha - showers a'plenty. Love that you guys have a pool! How fun for your family. Love the big family room, the kids sleeping everywhere on the floor, picnics wherever, playing in boxes, etc. We are in and out of town for the next two weeks (story of our summer), so I plan to call you once we resurface. I think about it all the time, just the wrong time of day for the time difference! Miss you guys!
